Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports To:  Grading Station Manager

Employment Status: Permanent Full-Time (averaging 40 hours per week)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm          

Starting Rate: $25 - $30 per hour (based on education & experience)

 SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is a skilled trades person who is certified to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment. The scope of work will include routine maintenance, specific work or technical services as determined by the Grading Station Manager. The technician will diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments as well as emergency repairs.

 SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position working on average 40 hours a week; Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm. Varying hours, weekend, on-call, and holiday work may be required depending on operational requirements.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Trade certified as one or more of following (required): Millwright, Mechanic, or Machinist
• Additional experience and/or certification as an Electrician would be an asset
• Excellent attention to detail and excellent troubleshooting skills
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Work well under pressure & maintain professionalism
• Ability to prioritize and time manage is critical
• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient at Office 365 applications including Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Valid Driver License and Driver Abstract
• Respect for animals and an appreciation for animal welfare; knowledge of the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Poultry an asset    

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

•  Update and maintains related records systems and department databases as required
• Initiate safety concerns and makes judgment on the best methods of completing.
• Provide technical support via phone or Teams to other facilities.
