Title: Flock Caretaker

The Caretaker will ensure the company’s animal husbandry practices are followed. Responsibilities of a Caretaker includes feeding birds, monitoring and regulating ventilation and temperature, ensuring water quality and supply, handling live or deceased birds, weighing birds, and following a spray vaccination program. They will maintain accurate daily records of feed and water consumption, mortality rates and other relevant information. They will also ensure buildings, grounds and equipment are clean and well-maintained.
The Caretaker will also assist with the barn setup and preparation for new flocks. The individual in this position will also help with planning placements and loadouts.
The work schedule for this position is a rotation that includes weekends, averaging 50 hours per week. The individual must be able to work flexible hours including early morning, evenings, weekends, holidays and be available to answer on-call alarms.
